CALCUTTA-CUT-A-SLUTTA
Here are the rules for the Calcutta Betting Scandal…
- $10 entry fee per person to be involved in the Calcutta (This is MANDATORY for all players). The $10 buys each person a ticket in the Calcutta raffle. This will give us a starting prize pool of $10 x however many players we have.
- In two hats, all the names of the competitors are put.
- 1 name is drawn out of each hat so each player will receive a player to bet on.
- This is the result of the highly technical form of random draws;
COMPETITOR RAFFLE WINNER PURCHASED AMOUNT Alex Dave Nathan TJ - The table will be brought along on the first morning of the Masters with all the odds for each person (Nathan to decide what the odds are).
- Once everyone has arrived on the Wednesday morning, we will start the Calcutta Auction at the course.
- Now the benefit of drawing a competitors name in the raffle is that you only ha to pay half of the purchase price a competitor gets auctioned for. For example if Alex’s final purchase price is $50 and Dave C was to make the final bid of $50 he would only have to pay $25. Any other person bidding for Alex would have to pay the full amount.
- Alex will be the Auctioneer for the Calcutta and bidding for each competitor will start with a minimum bid of $1 and go up in minimum increments of $1.
- The total prize pool we have after the Auction will decide as to whether we will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize or just a 1st and 2nd. The split of prize money will be 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd and 20% for 3rd, or 60% for 1st and 40% for 2nd if there is only a first and second prize.
- The Calcutta is a great chance for all of us shit golfers to win some money off the back of a better golfer’s achievements. All you have to do is make sure you buy them in the auction.
- Payment will be required at the end of the Auction so make sure you bring some extra cash along so that you are able to make some bids.
- If after reading all this you are still unsure how it all works or you just wish to ring and abuse him, give Sparky a call.
- There will be no “split pot” in the event of a draw for 1st place. 1st place will be decided by a play-off hole, count back etc. (check our rule book)
- If a player is disqualified from the tournament due to an unforeseeable event (injury, sudden sickness etc), the person who purchased winning rights for that player will be refunded his money and the “pot” will be adjusted accordingly. Anything “dubious” will be decided by the masters president and Nathan.
